Baby Boomers Handing Down Moral Degradation to Current and Future Generations

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On June - 17 - 2008

It’s not enough to keep the moral slide of the Baby Boomer generation contained in those outlandish years of the 60’s and 70’s.  All of the drug use and immorality is being reintroduced to a new generation of Americans. Without shame, it seems Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964) are willing to continue to flaunt immorality without consequences. If someone dares raise an issue about the need to return America back to God and to fix society’s current woes, they have the liberal establishment (mostly held by the Baby Boomer generation) to contend with.

However, social issues need to be addressed. There is a HUGE need for abortion to stop its rampage on our children. There is a need for parents to step up and BE parents (stop trying to serve your own interests…looking at life like it’s "all about me" and "I can have it all"), there is a need for Americans to put God first in their lives (you can’t sing/say "God Bless America" and then ignore Him in your daily lives), there is a need for Biblical tenets and true patriotism to be taught to the younger generations, and there is a need to abstain from further action that will limit such expression.

Freedom of speech? Only for a few? I think not. How has America degraded to such a state (see article: Biblical message now criminalized below this article)?

The Baby Boomer generation needs to WAKE UP! You have dropped the ball in so many ways!  Wake up for the sake of my generation and the generations to follow. Generation X (born 1965-1978) needs leaders. Leaders will not come forth from my generation if they have no one to show them the proper guidance. Mistakes will be made that will cause our nation to falter.

Society is too hands off with younger generations. When I say "younger," I mean Generation X, Y or the "Millennials" (born 1979-2002) as they are also called. Baby Boomers have not provided guidance…those from "The Greatest Generation" (the generation that preceded the Boomers) are leaving this Earth in rising numbers and have also looked upon this nation with sorrow and disappointment with what it has become.  Surely this isn’t the same country they grew up in or dreamed it would be.

Generation Y/"Millennials" are being indoctrinated in American Universities by the same Baby Boomers who espouse the leftist mentality. A socialist mindset inundates many of the University halls in America. But many children who attend college today did not come from households that are extreme in liberal views.

We don’t have a generation who can think for themselves and stand on what they believe. Thus, it puts our nation in peril in the coming years. My generation and those behind me will be more apt to allow the government or outside forces to govern how we live. They will be lackluster in defending their own values taught at home.

The Baby Boomer effect on Marriage

One misconception towards marriage that society has currently is that today, one should be successful or "doing well" before they meet their "Mr or Miss Right." When one repeats the marriage vows, they may recite "…for richer or poorer…"  Marriage is about becoming one with that special someone; it is a union between a male and female …two people coming together and asking for the blessing of Almighty God, asking for His hand to guide them as they embark on a journey together in life. Whether one has money or not should not be in the equation. Yes we wish a happy newlywed couple much success, but when it is time to say "I do," whether or not a person is financially fit (or is secure in a career) shouldn’t put a damper on a relationship. Many of the wealthy and successful in this world are known to divorce as soon as they marry.

If one person in the relationship should bring up a reason along those lines to delay (delay and delay some more) marriage, it does nothing but bring up feelings of unnecessary hurt and pain in a relationship.

The question should be, is there a bond of love and friendship that the couple can build on as they go through life? Will the couple be willing to grow together and face challenges together? Those are important questions to ask someone who is ready to walk down the aisle.

We place too high a priority on making sure everything else in our life is set before we marry someone when really marriage could be that blessing to propel two people to new heights.

My generation has such a negative view of marriage. They have been shown that example from the Baby Boomer generation (which has produced a staggering divorce rate).  In life, it is not about me, or trying to make everything perfect. Nothing in this life will ever be perfect, but when one finds real love, treasure it. It is a blessing, especially in this day and age.

Make that leap of love and fidelity and marry…don’t leave the one you love waiting for the ring because you feel you have to get "everything together" and have "everything just right".

And for those of you playing the field….settle on someone. If we continue in such a mode where many in this country are philandering… with every other country watching our actions, we will soon be overtaken. We cannot continue to run after our lusts and be blessed as a nation.

Further Discussion and Conclusion

As one can see, I’m not to happy about the outcome the Baby Boomers have had on society. Many of the challenges my generation and those behind me face has to do with how Baby Boomers have affected society. A new program on CBS highlights the 70’s in its raunchy state. The show, Swingtown brings back to light a time when people experimented with each other’s wives and husbands and participated in other supposedly "liberating" but risky behaviors.  Boomers continue to bring that immorality to the younger generations …shoving it down our throats. It’s disgusting!

Not all Baby Boomers fall into this category. Many have acted responsibly to mold young people into decent citizens and teach sacred values and traditions that Americans hold dear. Many Boomers have confronted societal ills like racism and injustice. If you fall into this category, you have my heartfelt thanks and gratitude.  But overall, the Boomers need to re-evaluate what life is about, get a new perspective, recognize their mistakes, and help set things right.

In order to effectively do that, we all must realize we cannot do it ourselves. We must have the help of Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus gives us a chance to right our wrongs by coming to Him in repentance. Otherwise, what is to follow will be judgment and severe hardship.

We’ve been on the path of destruction long enough.  It’s time to get it right.

Vaccinations and Drugs are being forced on the Public, Part IV

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On May - 23 - 2008
Indeed the public is being forced to take vaccines and drugs.  My last article gave testimonies from various physicians who bring to light that there is coercion on the part of the government for parents to vaccinate their children.

Perhaps the most shocking incident that comes to mind of government stepping over its bounds with the vaccination issue is the case in Maryland last year. In Prince George’s County, MD, more than 1,000 parents were threatened by the State of Maryland with jail time if they did not allow their children to be vaccinated.  With armed guards and dogs looking on, the state of Maryland forced the children to be vaccinated at the Prince George’s County courthouse!

Just as a Texas Appeals court ruled days ago that it was wrong for Texas Child Protective Services to remove 400 kids from their home on a polygamist ranch, it is just as wrong and unconstitutional to force children to be vaccinated and for the government to threaten their parents. Yet that story received scant attention and coverage in the media.

The Chicken Pox vaccine (with dangerous side effects like seizures and pneumonia) was one of the vaccines the children were given. To get the chicken pox virus is just rather annoying, but not life threatening, and it doesn’t warrant the state stepping all over parents’ rights.

Kathryn Serkes of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons emphasized, "This power play obliterates informed consent and parental rights." AAPS slammed the forced vaccinations in Maryland and is an upstanding group in that it shuns pharmaceutical companies’ corporate funding (please read more on this story below this article).

AAPS warned that money was the motive of such drastic action in Maryland.  The association has made the effort to contact parents to let them know they have options. Indeed, physicians are not all in agreement that vaccines are necessary. Some see the outrageous methods being used to force parents to comply with vaccinations on their child.

I am thankful for such physicians and medical personnel who understand that it is the parents’ right to care for their children first, and not the state or federal government.

Government is no one’s nanny. When we give the government too much control, as in the examples above, we then see the ramifications of our actions.

To counter the rising number of parents who are opting out of vaccinating their children, the media is doing its job to get the word out about the so called danger of not vaccinating against disease. They continue to report that more and more parents are claiming exemptions to get their child out of being vaccinated and then include in their report, someone in the medical field who says it’s a bad idea. I saw such a report today on local news. This makes the second time (one local, one national) I’ve seen the media raise an unnecessary alarm over the need to vaccinate.

As Americans, we need to see that the media has become the government’s mouthpiece.

In regards to parents claiming exemptions…HELLO! It’s their choice! That is one thing that Americans should celebrate, is the freedom of choice in this country…the choice to take control of one’s health and the health of their loved ones. Parents know what’s best for their children.

The way to safeguard the future of this nation is to first start with our children…to make sure that our children’s health is vigorously defended. Too many have suffered from needless reactions from vaccines and pharmaceutical drugs. It’s good to hear that more and more parents are opting out. But as long as some parents fail to see that there is a financial motive towards the vaccines/drugs that are coming out on the market left and right, we will watch our freedoms slip further.

Drugs and vaccines are not a guaranteed barrier between you and a disease.  But I believe we do need to put up a barrier between our health and those who choose to wreck it by mass marketing of drugs and vaccines.

Seek natural remedies for you and your child. Be mindful of one’s food intake and diet as well.
If convicted to do something counter to what is being said in the media or what the government wishes, follow your heart.

In closing, I hope my series of articles on vaccinations has caused you to make better decisions when it comes to vaccinating your children and taking pharmaceutical drugs.  With such a delicate issue: whether or not to vaccinate,  it is wise to search all of the options and information available.  One can opt out of vaccinating their child.

Strive to keep America free…and it starts with keeping one’s health in check by watching what goes into our body.

Continuing the Discussion on Race in 2008

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On May - 20 - 2008

I am a military brat who has traveled to many places. I was blessed to grow up around different types of people. With those people, I got along with them beautifully. Life, I remembered, was just fine. Now, in certain parts of the nation, I am seeing a rise in racial tension and it’s troubling.  I’ve experienced it sparsely during the 15 years when I moved from the Northern United States to the Memphis area.  It catches me off guard, because I do not think that someone would behave towards another human being in a racist manner.

In a recent article, I mentioned Memphis having a problem with racism…and no sooner had that article been released, an incident of a racial nature was reported in the news in Memphis.  A writer from a Memphis magazine, The Flyer decided to use the acronym HNIC (Head N-g–r In Charge) when addressing the search for the next Superintendent of Memphis City Schools (read the news item below this article).  Where is the journalistic integrity here? I can’t fathom a professional using a degrading term like this (regardless of what movie the writer pulled it from), where is the respect for other people?

Another news station, FOX13 Memphis decided to do the series Memphis: In Black and White, which focused on race relations in Memphis.  I wondered why there was a need to even mention the black and white split, to do so exacerbates the racial problem in Memphis.

We shouldn’t look at things through black and white. Memphis, the city where Martin Luther King Jr. was gunned down and where the National Civil Rights museum exists, should be a city where the beacon of freedom for all and love toward your fellow man, shines bright.  I am pointing out the problem of racism, that there is a need for it to be obliterated, or our nation will not survive for long.

The issue of race is not confined to Memphis. Since my last article, I’ve gotten responses from people who have had their own experiences or those who wanted to sound off on this subject. Here are a few from equally concerned readers of my last article:

Thank you so much.  This has been one of my pet peeves as well.  I have seen my white next door neighbor, who claims she isn’t racist, be rude to the two little black boys who live on the other side of me.  They’re good kids.  During the summer, they will come to my house & ask if my husband can come out and sit on the swing with them.

Then one of our faculty just got demoted from being over a certain research program because she wasn’t doing a good job and was really in debt with her program.  What did she do?  She screamed at our Department Chairman and said she was going to Affirmative Action.  She can’t see that it has nothing to do with black or white, she just wasn’t doing her job.  And I’ve got one of the secretaries who is going to be really mad at me, because I went to her supervisor about her pawing off her work on me & everyone else who will do it.  I’ve had enough of it all.  We’ve got both black and white employees around here who work their butts off.  The folks who work don’t get in trouble.

And if I hear another argument over whether Jesus was black or white, I just might scream.  He was a Jew from Israel—neither black nor white, but Middle Eastern!

Unfortunately black and white issues are nothing new.  They are just another version of Jew vs. Gentile or Jew vs. Samaritan.  ~Which brings us to how we should really treat each other.  We should be like the Samaritan, who even though he was looked down upon by the Jews, picked up the Jewish man who had been beaten and left on the road side for dead, took him to an inn to be cared for, left money with the caretaker and promised to pay even more when he returned from his journey if more was needed.  That was love in action.  Love does not see color…

I BELIEVE GOD ABHORS RACISM.  TO DESPISE ANOTHER PERSON FOR SOMETHING THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IS ONE HUGE SIN.  SINCE THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT GOD CREATED US - KNEW WHO WE WERE AND ALL OF OUR DAYS - BEFORE OUR MOTHERS KNEW WE WERE THERE - TELLS ME THAT EVERYONE BAR NONE IS GOD’S CREATION - TO HATE THEM - IS TO HATE THE CREATOR.

So glad you had such a lovely experience in Appalachia.  It’s sad that people are so insecure (and that’s what it is) that they have to judge others on superficial things like skin color or any other criteria, other than their individual character.  Dr. MLK certainly had that one right!   And it seems after years of what I consider great progress since the Civil Rights Movement that things would continue to get better when it comes to attitudes towards our fellow man.  But I find lately that our nation is balkanizing into "special interest groups" who all distrust and/or dislike the others.  Blacks against whites, Whites against hispanics, Hispanics against blacks, Atheists against Christians, everyone against Mormons, Women against men. Gays against Christians, Straights against Gays.  There is no end to the reasons to dislike each other.  The only cure for it….it’s up to each individual to overcome their group or peer pressure to go against their group interest…and live their life as Americans…or even more basic….as humans.  We all have more in common than we do differences.  But so many people through their insecurities tend to "identify" with a group….safety in numbers I guess.  It’s probably a primal human thing based on fear.  And fear usually trumps all other things.   So few people stop to ask…"what’s there to be afraid of"?  Why am I afraid of my fellow Americans?  It’s crazy.   And the media doesn’t help…with their pointing out and encouraging these divisions on the nightly news day after day.

So all we can do is personally show love and acceptance of one another in our own lives and be examples to others.  Which you certainly are.

THANK YOU, Felicia!

I know exactly what you are talking about.  I lived 10 years in a town in East Texas that contained so much prejudice and racism…on both sides…that I was consistently being attacked….from both sides….because I didn’t toe the line and had friends from a different race than myself (I am white).  My daddy taught me to evaluate people by what they do and say, not by what they look like or have….and that was before any of us had even heard of Dr. King.  I thank God that my parents weren’t prejudiced and taught me that wasn’t what Jesus wanted.

I came to the conclusion long ago that as far as racism is concerned there is only ONE ENEMY…..PREJUDICE….and it can come from anywhere (unfortunately).   Again, thank you for getting the message out.

Hi Felicia……..I totally agree with you and have lived the life in areas similar to Appalachia. The people there are the "salt of the earth", kind, sharing, they mainly have their Christianity to support them and any time I have been in a more "urban" area the racist attitude is out in the open and terrible….however in these more rural and poorer areas, they are rich in spirit and the people really need each other for fellowship and many other reasons as well.

They are real people and the cast of "true Americans" with very little or no prejudice.  I had a real life experience there with a neighbor who became a great friend of mine there and he told me his life story….it was so typical of what you mentioned in your article. Many people never get the chance to see this other side of life, "Appalachia"……they live in the larger cities and grow up with all that negative racial stuff….I have actually met some people here that I know would never vote for a black candidate and they know it but trying  to be "politically correct" they say they will vote for Obama…….I know that they either won’t  vote or
vote for McCain…these are democrats, a few are relatives and neighbors that have been saying many horrible things about the Rev. Wright issue but when I ask them how they will vote in light of all the controversy, they say they have to stick to their democrat beliefs and back rounds but later on in their conversation they say they "How can I vote for Obama, he’s black" and I say to them "Whoops" vote for who you want to but watch what you say and stop trying to be politically correct at the office or work place. The rest you know already in their responses to the sermons played on TV of Rev. Wright….somehow, the whole matter of the Obama candidacy will eventually become racial, especially if he does not get elected, this is what they are predicting on the talk shows and people respond to these pin heads like Russert, and the rest……whats their goals?….to do and say thoose type of statement…its race mongering…………Tom

I don’t know why it is still an issue either Felicia. In this day and age, where we are supposed to be so smart.. There is still such ignorance.  I live in So. Cal. Maybe I’ve just not had to deal with this in my life, (I am white) but I have zero tolerance for it.  Skin is skin. Show me one person who isn’t different in some sort of way. Yet people still go about picking out people just because of pigment?.. That is insane.  … All of us are connected by our humanness and by our Christian love. We are all brothers and sister in Christ and I pray,  and agree with Martin Luther King, that one day, all will be able to live without discrimination.

Hi Felicia!

I guess I am not too surprised that racism is still  around.  All of us,being sinners, I am afraid it won’t ever go away until the Lord comes and sets all things right!

Have you experienced racism among Christians?   If so, that should never be….we of all people should KNOW what matters most!   I have never seen it…..but I have experienced Christians acting in ways so opposite of what the Lord expects…..that it would not surprise me.

I am glad you found some really nice people on your trip to the Appalacians!  Hillbilly…LOL I guess some think of the word in negative terms….but to me….it just reminds me of my dad and his family.   They were  shockingly poor to my mother( who grew up in a home that was poor) as a newlywed when she first met them.  But all have managed to achieve a better life.

You would think that Christians of all people would realize that,no matter what our skin color, we are all related.  We all came from Noah’s  three sons!!

Not being black, it was my observation as a young woman that there was more racism in the northern cities than I had seen in the south.   But….that maybe  not be a true picture of the truth.  ( then too that was about 40 yrs ago)

One day….maybe soon….we can be done with all this nonsense…..I am looking for the Lord’s return any time!!!  The sooner the better!!!

   God Bless!

There are some very nice black people that have character and class, and then there are those who don’t, and its the same with white people…no difference./  It is the individual themself, not the color. I think the racism thing is something the Media use’s and these politicians.  …It is very unfortunate that we have racist people in this country, but we do, and probably always will have on both sides….whites and blacks.   I would like to see one day racism ends, but it won’t happen in my life time.

Emily C., Port Orange, FL

***

Thanks to all who wrote to me in response to my last article.  And in response to Emily, take heart… I sure hope that the racism will end…my goal in addressing this issue is to, at least, make some headway into eliminating it.

I remember a time when the United States was not so split apart. We bonded together as Americans. There was a pride in being American. And we treated each other well. Somewhere along the way, we’ve lost ourselves.  In some areas across the country, we are divided. It’s a sad state of affairs for our nation. People, no matter their race, are justifying their reasons to be racist and negative against a person of another race. That doesn’t sound like Americans. Or Christians.

I’ve seen racism in the church even!  I’ve attended a church for a length of time that consisted mainly of a white congregation and sooner or later, the nasty stares start…along with other incidents I won’t mention.  This is shocking when Jesus Christ was colorblind and He made man and woman of all races and creeds as an example to His preference of variety and affinity to the uniqueness of an individual. It also speaks to His majesty and His desire for variety in that every person is different personality wise and culture.

Basically, if God made people of all colors and backgrounds, we should respect them. Why would He say to go throughout the world and preach the gospel to everyone if He didn’t want all men regardless of race to be saved? It isn’t going to be just a few protected people who make it to heaven. People of all races and creeds will be there.

We should be looking for direction from the Lord Jesus in how to live our lives and in the process He will be there to guide and teach us as we face obstacles in life. We shouldn’t cause our fellow Christians any harm. Christians are to be a light in an increasingly dark world.  But all too often, the issue of race attempts to snuff out the light we are supposed to be. We need to come together.

No matter how much of it is fueled by media, the fact of the matter is, racism is still a problem. Otherwise, the media wouldn’t have anything to report on.  We still have the scourge of racism in our society that needs to leave. How can we be "One Nation Under God" and we can’t even see past our differences?

That’s something to reflect on.

A Candid Viewpoint on Race in 2008

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On May - 15 - 2008

From the heart of a woman who is tired of the racism
by Felicia Benamon

I often wonder why the issue of race has been brought up much lately, and with such emphasis in the media. Especially during this year’s race for the White House. Race is more and more, earning a spotlight in the media.  Sadly, in various parts of the nation, the issue of race is still a problem. But, to counter that, many places stand above the fray as exemplary examples of how one should treat his fellow man.

Just a few days ago, I made a trip from Memphis to the Appalachian Mountains (southwest region) and the differences between both areas are day and night. Race is still an issue in Memphis, of all places. Martin Luther King Jr. fought hard to let this nation and the world know that people should be judged by the content of their character and that a person’s skin color should NEVER be judged. But sadly, I’ve experienced the latter in Memphis too many times.

In the particular part of Appalachia where I visited, the surroundings are not only beautiful, but the people are as well…in that their spirits are humble and friendly. They still believe in Christian tenets…"do onto others as they would do unto you." I felt God’s presence in this beautiful area and it is reflected in the people.  I had interesting conversations with complete strangers and the whole time, we were engaging in conversation as people…one on one. As Americans.  In other places, I’ve experienced an awkwardness and silence as if the person I’m speaking to does not want to talk to me.   The air is tense, and there is also a spiritual struggle on my end, but when I spoke to the people of Appalachia, I NEVER had that problem.

As I was getting ready to leave the mountainous region, I lamented the return home because of what I knew I was going to face.  More of the same…people who are too stuck on themselves and narrow minded to look past skin color.  Coming back to the Memphis area, (or going from day to day) I tend to think at times with certain people, upon approaching them to speak with them, "Will they hold a conversation with me without looking at my race?"  "Will they see ME instead of the outer package?"

Why must I go through this? Why must someone look at me as if it is a problem that I am sitting with someone else who is of another race?  It’s a HUGE letdown, because I know in 21st century America, we are supposed to be further along than this in race relations.

And as Christians, we ought to be living according to what we believe. So racism on the part of the Christian…if you say you are a Christian and then behave in a manner as to throw a stumbling block in someone else’s way, it is deplorable!

What is wrong with us? Can’t we learn from the past…that racism tears up a nation and leaves an ugly scar?

Don’t get me wrong, racism exists regardless of what race a person is. I’ve seen it come forth from black people as well as white. It’s ugly no matter who harbors ill will towards another human being because of their skin color.

It’s a shame that the people of Appalachia seem to be the butt of jokes from Hollywood and are looked upon as being "backward" or hillbillies (I’m recalling a particular Saturday Night Live skit).  From what I’ve seen, they have integrity and love for their fellow man.

I will switch now and speak of another positive example of brotherhood I saw today, May 15, 2008, on CBS’s The Early Show…

Morehouse, a historically black college, is graduating its first white valedictorian Josh Packwood. Packwood described the bond he and his fellow graduates had and while watching the program, I could see that. This is historic for the school.  The president of Morehouse, Dr. Robert Franklin commented that historically black colleges "always operated on a non-discriminatory basis" and was happy about the occasion.  Josh Packwood had the grades and he made history at Morehouse.

I wish that everyone would look beyond the outer package, the human body (which isn’t perfect to begin with) and learn to connect with people based on their character.

I’d like to see peace in our nation. I’m talking about the kind of peace that resides in the hearts of men…the peace that radiates from a person and the fruit of that is kindness towards others and overall happiness.

The only way we will get past the race issue is if we all started treating each other like family…a family of American citizens. As a black woman (it’s obvious) but an American first, I hope that we all can think and change the course we are on in terms of race.

Thank you to the people of Southwestern Appalachia for showing me there are still people out there who are REAL and are truly engaging and warm towards their fellow man.

“None of the Above”

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On May - 10 - 2008
The Democrat party is split. Democrat voters have said they wouldn’t vote for Hillary Clinton if she won the nomination, it’s the same if Barack Obama won the nomination. So….who does one look to? Still, the Democrat and Republican National Conventions are to come and Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, and John McCain have to be officially declared the winner. The American people still have a choice.

The electoral process that has been displayed before us does not represent a fair process nor does it rightly reflect what our nation is about. A few elite (yes John McCain fits the mold as an elitist) seized the spots as the top 3 candidates left who are vying for the presidency, and the American people are left hanging. We deserve a wider selection of choice other than the 3 left standing.

If overall, dissatisfaction with the top 3 candidates linger, who do we vote for?

Obama speaks of change, but he is polarizing and exactly what "change" will he be referring to? The man is too controversial. Not to mention, his far leftist leanings aren’t something I will readily jump on board with.

Wonder why Clinton won’t quit? It’s because she’s been working up to this moment for years…her insatiable drive for the White House is palpable. Bill Clinton is also looking forward to occupying the White House again; their appetite for power is underestimated by the public (which serves us no good).

John McCain also has a penchant for power…along with his elitist/globalist views.

In the May 12 issue of NEWSWEEK, Fareed Zakaria reports that "the United States does not seem to be leading the charge" in the world.  We are wavering as the #1 nation, and he said that "Americans are glum." The title of his new book, The Post American World, is quite disturbing.  Well, the situation is not likely to improve with the top 3 candidates. All of them are of the globalist mindset.

Imagine if the American public turned their backs on the top 3 and started viewing candidates who were loyal to the Constitution of the United States.

Still, there are some that are licking their chops over the prospect of a black or woman becoming president of the United States.  It’s an illusion that will bring our nation to collapse if we let it.  Race and gender is a superficial reason to vote for a person for such an important position.  I believe the same for someone who thinks that a candidate’s youth or looks is somehow important (or an attractive quality) for the presidency.

It’s shocking to think that the two national parties would promote a candidate because "they’ve gone through a lot" or have "proven themselves." The media does that as well, as they seize on the opportunity to tout their candidate before us (through the "talking heads" and pundits). Some voters have fallen for the slick talk; especially women voters who see Hillary Clinton as one who has stood tough through all the negative campaigning. Many women think she deserves the presidency after all she has gone through.

The voters must be wise to see through the spin. The only attribute that should and will speak to the character of a politician is their background and stand on the issues.

This brings me to the Republican Party’s early endorsement of McCain, who is undoubtedly a liberal.
Conservative Republicans need not think that they are stuck with McCain because that’s who the Republican party has backed and who supposedly has the nomination.  Too many people want to "go with the flow" instead of standing for something.

There are other choices…where is our conscience to consider a third party candidate? That may be the solution to bringing Americans together and ultimately saving our country: the selection of a third party candidate who doesn’t have the mind set of following after big corporations and the elite.

Who is telling the truth to the electorate? Who is REAL?  America needs to cast off the top 3 candidates and look at those who’ve been passed over.  The third party candidates may still have a chance to grab the spotlight during the Democrat/Republican national conventions.  I still believe America’s best choice was Alan Keyes… or someone who is equally conservative and constitutionally minded.

Clinton, Obama, and McCain will not bring America back to prominence in the world. If you want someone who espouses a socialist, power sharing viewpoint that marginalizes the power and position of the US in the world, then vote for either of these candidates.

If you want to see America rise from its distress, then the American people must focus in on a candidate that will uphold the Constitution and our traditional values. We should be asking each presidential candidate if they will pledge their allegiance to uphold the sovereignty of America and will they unwaveringly continue in that effort to make sure America remains intact (Note: Now that I’m thinking of it, Congress should take the same pledge).

I’m hoping that between now and the national conventions that a miracle will occur and Americans will be able to take back their nation from the elite that only have selfish, global agendas.

In the midst of everything, the American people remain in power and control.  We just have to use it wisely and keep an eye on what our leaders are doing and hold them accountable. Never attach to the superficial, look deeper.

It’s your choice to make, never settle for less when it comes to upholding the freedoms of this country. And that includes using your vote wisely.

Vaccinations and Drugs are being forced on the Public, Part III

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On April - 30 - 2008
Many doctors are now starting to see the negative effects that vaccines have on children and are standing against the dangers associated with vaccines and the vaccination overload and that we are now seeing with children. I say overload because in 1983, children were given around 10 vaccinations before starting school. Now children receive an astounding 36. Before a child reaches a year old, they’ve received 24 vaccines!

A plethora of physicians, nutritionists, and even a candidate for president are taking their stand against the administering of current vaccines on the public.

As I’ve been advocating in this series of articles on vaccinations and drugs, our government has its methods in forcing the public to be vaccinated. Or drugged up.  Just perhaps not in an overt way.  My feelings were confirmed as I ran upon an article by nutritionist Byron Richards who exclaimed, "The government’s primary goal appears to be to prevent parents, en masse, from refusing to vaccinate their children.  To prevent such a ‘run on the public health bank’ all caution is being recklessly thrown to the wind. American children are now the most vaccinated people in the world. What are we actually doing? The vaccination problem needs to be objectively solved so that public health is maintained, yet needless vaccine injury is avoided."

Richards went on to say, "It should not be of any great comfort to parents that scientists hardly understand how the immune system works. The simplistic idea that vaccines offer protection against disease has an element of truth and a significant element of risk."

Basically, scientists approach the development of a vaccine through trial and error with various strains of a disease and other strange components.  There is no guarantee that one will not suffer health effects from a newly developed vaccine. Parents should not put such trust in vaccines that may not protect against a disease at all but rather come with devastating health effects.

Byron also expands his statement and says, "It is a colossal failure on the part of our government to not warn parents of the actual risks associated with vaccines. The blind insistence that vaccines are safe and effective is not supported by science, at least for a significant number of our children. There are now 25,000 children per year developing autism (1 in 150), a problem that has expanded in direct proportion to the increase in vaccinations."

Richards also explores "adjuvants" or "immune activators" present in vaccines that trigger the immune system to fight back against the weakened virus. Mr. Richards questions the safety of adjuvants and their effect on the body.  One adjuvant he singles out is aluminum hydroxide, which has been found to cause problems with motor skills and affects the nerves.

There is good news however as Byron Richards offers ways one can repair the body after vaccine damage.  He mentions the various "super nutrients" that can stave off brain damage or in the case of an incident where brain damage has occurred, will stop any further progression of damage. He explains that through nutrition, one can help the issue of inflammation, nerve damage, etc.

Richard adds, "It is now believed that one factor involved with vaccine injury is poor mitochondrial function.  Lipoic Acid is another nutrient now proven to lower NF-kappaB and reduce the inflammation associated with LPS toxicity."

Where is the medical industry on these findings? Such important medical information should be in the hands of doctors and medical professionals everywhere!

There is more than one way to treat illness and injury to the body other than through drugs.  The medical industry owes it to the American public to consider and insert into their practice the use of foods, vitamins, antioxidants, herbs, etc. to heal the body.  Profit should NEVER be the motive for pursuing a career in the medical field. The relationship between doctors and the drug industry is too close…it is compromising the integrity of the medical profession and that must stop.

Recovering from Autism?

Wednesday, April 2nd was Autism Awareness day. And again, Autism was in the news. Vaccine related illnesses affect not only the average American family.  Celebrities have dealt with the onslaught of symptoms brought on by vaccines when immunizing their children.   Actor Jenny McCarthy’s son, now on the way to healing, has suffered from Autism. Jenny McCarthy (currently dating Actor Jim Carrey) believes this was brought on by vaccines.  He is now in recovery and doing well.

McCarthy recalls the indifference of the medical industry. "…we’ve never been contacted by a single member of the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, or any other health authority to evaluate and understand how Evan recovered from autism. When Evan meets doctors and neurologists, to this day they tell us he was misdiagnosed — that he never had autism to begin with. It’s as if they are wired to believe that children can’t recover from autism," McCarthy said. "Most of the parents we’ve met who have recovered their child from autism as we did (and we have met many) blame vaccines for their child’s autism.

We think our health authorities don’t want to open this can of worms, so they don’t even look or listen."

In order to slow the rise in Autism rates, Jenny McCarthy suggests, "…we need to consider changing the vaccine schedule, reducing the number of shots given and removing certain ingredients that could be toxic to some children.

We take into account that some children have reactions to medicines like penicillin, for example, yet when it comes to vaccines we are operating as if our kids have a universal tolerance for them. We are acting like ONE SIZE FITS ALL. That is, at the very least, a huge improbability.

Even if the CDC is not convinced of a link between vaccines and autism, changing the vaccine schedule should be seriously considered as a precautionary measure."

Who can argue with that?

In addition, Jenny McCarthy has a book out, "Louder Than Words: A Mother’s Journey in Healing Autism."

Another famous mother of a child with Autism is Holly Robinson Peete, who, to raise awareness and money for Autism, started the Hollyrod Foundation.

Dr. Carolyn Dean, a medical doctor and nutritionalist describes the situation the US faces in regards to Autism and similar disorders as "a catastrophe" and notes the indifference of the government towards this crisis.

Dean said, "Government health experts claim autism is an incurable disease offering anticonvulsant and psychotropic drugs to control behavior and a behavior modification therapy called ‘applied behavior analysis (ABA).’ They dismiss all other means of helping these children as ‘unproven.’ Meanwhile thousands of children are back to full functionality by treating the damage caused by mercury toxicity using natural health therapies."

Parents have had to step in to not only speak out for their Autistic children, but to seek help from alternate sources.  It can be done.  Dr. Dean mentions that Autism CAN be treated.  Parents are going through great lengths to provide special diets for their Autistic children, providing extra nutritional support in supplemental form, and are detoxifying their children.

As for detoxification, there is a naturally occurring element that attaches to toxins in the body and removes them from the body, helping the body get back into balance.  What is it? It’s called Zeolite.  Many doctors are not aware of this essential natural supplement, but it is supported by some doctors and scientists who are in the know and use natural approaches to health (Read more on Zeolite at the links provided below this article).

As I said in Part II of this series, parents are the first line of defense in protecting their child.

Certainly, just like the foods we eat that aid in our health, natural substances can be used to help keep our bodies on track. This is especially considering all of the toxins in our environment, food, and water supply. But we put more toxins in our system via vaccines.

Our systems need balance. With the onslaught of toxins in our environment, wouldn’t it make sense to revert back to some old but proven methods to help our health?

Mary Tocco, who is an author and public speaker on health related issues looks from a historical point regarding the Polio vaccine.  She contends that before vaccines came to light, many diseases (including Polio) were in decline and almost eradicated. "I believe that Americans have been sold a lie," said Tocco.

She cites the World Health Statistics Manual (1973-’76) …

"…there had been a steady decline in infectious diseases in most developing countries regardless of vaccines administered. They believe that the diseases disappeared as a result of improved sanitation, improved water supplies improved personal hygiene and better nutrition. In addition, diseases for which there were no vaccines also declined dramatically. From 1850 to 1940, diseases had declined by 90% and were at an all time low, just when vaccines were being introduced."

In her article, Tocco mentions the brainwashing that has occurred over the years in regards to vaccines, that we’ve been "programmed" to believe vaccines are good for us.  Mary Tocco goes on to mention findings in other medical journals on the decline of diseases not related to vaccines, and mentions a testimonial from a pediatrician on the medical industry’s "indoctrination" upon the public from day one.

Mary Tocco added, "Our government is trying to hide behind “junk science” riddled with conflict of interest." Does that sound familiar?

Tocco also mentions, "Most parents do not know what they are consenting to, just as I believe most doctors who promote vaccines do not know what they were injecting when they vaccinate." She calls vaccines "mandated drugs" and said their safety and effectiveness has yet to be proven.

More Testimonials from Physicians

Dr. Sherri Tenpenny is among physicians speaking out on the "vaccination dogma." Again, the lack of concern exhibited by those in the medical community comes to play. "The IOM supports the dogma purported by the American Academy of Pediatrics: Since autism occurs chronologically around the same time as the first year vaccinations, angry parents need something to blame.

Parents blame the vaccine, but medical officials blame the defective child, a position supported by the government at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC.) "

She dares to say that we should not "assume" that vaccines will automatically be safe. "Contrary to repeated claims by the government and the pharmaceutical industry, vaccines have never been proven to be safe by the gold standard of medical research," said Tenpenny.

To add another voice to this argument,  Dr. Ron Paul (who is a doctor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and candidate for US president) has raised concern about vaccines and the public and government’s intrusion into our lives regarding vaccinations.

Paul said, "I don’t think anything should be forced on us by the government… immunization is one thing that we’re pressured and forced into…

"A responsible parent is going to say, ‘Yeah, I want my child to have that’ …and people have had some very, very serious reactions from these immunizations."

There is insurmountable information available to the public on vaccine dangers and ways to combat a setback from injury.  I merely scratched the surface. But rest assured, there are medical doctors, nutritionists, and others in the medical field that are not marching to the beat of conventional medicine and the government.  They are sounding the alarm for parents to take control of their health and ESPECIALLY the health of their little ones. If we as parents don’t stand in the gap for our children and protect them, who will?

*Note: Please take seriously the information contained in this article. All links and information are available to help you become more alert and aware of the dangers of vaccines/drugs, and to help you make better choices to keep your children safe from vaccine toxicity.

In my next article, Part IV, I will mention more on government’s intrusion into the lives of our children and the consequences if parents don’t comply.

Save the Earth? Yawn!

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On April - 24 - 2008

The earth is a powerful sphere. What makes man, a miniscule speck in God’s universe believe that through our actions, we have the ability drastically change the earth’s weather patterns or mess up the Earth’s structure?

In an article I wrote around this time last year, I reminded all through a Bible scripture that “The Earth is the Lord’s and the Fullness Thereof” — 1 Corinthians 10:26 (KJB)”

God Almighty is the one and only Supreme Being capable of allowing any overthrow or upset in the balance of planets. The earth is still a mystery. We don’t know everything there is to know about it, and probably will never find out its infinite mysteries. So when politicians like Al Gore and those who’ve adopted the “green” mentality and spout the mantra to address “climate change”, I continually turn a deaf ear.

All of the moaning and groaning over “climate change” is purely political. It certainly has been overblown this year on April 22nd as I’ve been assaulted with the “Green it, Mean It” logo on FOXTV and various other networks that choose to throw environmentalism in my face.

In her usual backing of “green” causes, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tried to use the Bible to explain how important she feels one must tend to the Earth.

“The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, ‘To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.’ On this Earth Day, and every day, let us pledge to our children, and our children’s children, that they will have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and the opportunity to experience the wonders of nature,” she said.

Professors of the Old Testament and other Biblical theologians have expressed concern over Pelosi’s application of Biblical verses to environmentalist causes. They say there is nothing in the Bible that closely suggests that one must take care of God’s creation in an act of worship.

“To minister to the needs of creation’- yes, but not as an act of worship. I’m not sure what she meant by that, and if I were there, I would have raised my hand and asked her to clarify that.” –Associate professor of theology, Mark Goodwin

Read more reviews on Pelosi’s comment from Bible scholars here:
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Page=/Culture/archive/200804/CUL20080423b.html

I am reminded of what a dear friend of mine said through an emailed Bible devotional on Earth Day…”Let’s be sure we worship the Creator and not the created.” So true Dave.

I will point out …there IS a worship of the Earth. Gaia.

Gaia is characterized as the Greek goddess of the Earth in Greek mythology. Today, the “Gaia Movement” is described as “an international network of individuals and groups that share a concern for living more sustainably on the earth.”

Read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_Movement

Perhaps that is where Pelosi got things a bit mixed up? Maybe she should have pulled from teachings of Gaia? That is where her heart is apparently.

I’ve been hearing the same song and dance about the need to “Save the Earth” for years and yet, the Earth is still here. Save the Earth? From what I say? I refuse to jump on the frantic belief of a few who see the Earth as a sphere in peril. I believe in Almighty God, that He ultimately has the final say on what happens to this planet.

I grew up with my parents instilling in me the importance of not wasting anything. But that was borne out of the belief that one must be grateful for what you have and not squander it. There was no frantic sense that we needed to “Save the Earth.” But I will use common sense and not be wasteful.

Government has stepped in amidst the furor of the need to save the planet. If states and even other countries aren’t banning plastic grocery bags, they are charging consumers extra to use them. Instead shoppers are encouraged to use reusable cloth sacks they can bring each time they take a trip to the store. Why punish those who prefer plastic? The plastic grocery bags can be used again. Does anyone think to use them as trash can liners? Now there’s an option. Besides, the plastic grocery bags are recyclable. So what’s the problem?

All of this hand wringing over the Earth is costing people more money. When it comes to fuel…instead of using our own oil reserves that haven’t been tapped yet, we resort to using corn to churn out Ethanol. This has driven up the price of corn. It makes no sense with food prices going up these days.

All the warnings over the environment and the Earth should have reasonable people shaking their heads. Christians especially should not fall for the alarmism over the Earth. Instead, Christians should check a politician who chooses to use the Bible to justify a stance that runs contrary to God’s word. Rep. Nancy Pelosi could not present a particular Bible verse to justify her environmental passion because there was none.

The Earth is in turmoil, but it’s not because of my lack of desire to lend a hand in environmental causes, that’s for sure. And we have bigger issues to worry about.

On the 40th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s death, it’s important to stop and realize what must be done to make our country more and more what Dr. King would approve of. Better yet, we should realize what Jesus Christ, Dr. King’s Lord and Savior, would approve of. Are we the nation that has come together and completely healed? Not altogether. America has definitely improved, and we continue to stride for a better society; we continue to strive against the odds.

At this time, America and the world pauses to honor a man who fought and died for many of the freedoms America enjoys today. Yes it is good that persons of color are now able to run for the office of the president. We’ve come far. But there are problems the US has to address. Not as a certain group of people, but together, as one…a family.

There are educational problems to address, problems with drug use, sexual promiscuity, the breakdown of the family, etc. All of those factors certainly play a strong role in how healthy a nation becomes in the future. We have to stop and ask ourselves, “Is this what Dr. King envisioned for us?”

This week, here in Memphis, the local news media is interviewing several influential people in the black community and those who knew Martin Luther King Jr. personally. One close friend of Dr. King, Dr. Benjamin Hooks, stood out to me as he said something profound. As Dr. Hooks reflected on the kind of man Dr. King was, he gave a tearful plea:

“If MLK opened a library, use it. If the NAACP gave you a book, read it. If the Urban League opened a door for a job, take it. Get up. Get your body straight. Get off drugs and alcohol and dope. Get up in the morning and go to work, take care of your body. Take care of your wife. Love and respect your children. Respect your womanhood. Respect America for what it has done, but more than that, for what it can do.”–Dr. Benjamin Hooks, 04/01/08

Read more of Dr. Hooks’ thought provoking interview here:

Dr. Hooks’ message rings similar to other wise and influential leaders like Dr. Bill Cosby. Dr. Cosby has addressed black audiences in his effort to bring to light many problems the black community faces. In the book, “Come on People: On the Path from Victims to Victors,” (written by Dr. Alvin Poussaint and Dr. Bill Cosby) Cosby makes a rallying cry for blacks in America to get it together. He addresses major concerns that are causing the downfall in the black community and then, gives encouragement, urging the reader to rise beyond the circumstances…to make the move “from victims to victors.” Although Cosby is speaking to the black community, his words are beneficial to America as a whole.

Messages of hope that emanate from leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Dr. Bill Cosby, Dr. Alvin Poussaint, and Dr. Benjamin Hooks should sink into the hearts of the American public. These men are but a small group of many honorable, strong black men who work to educate the public to reach for and work for a better day. They are the leaders who continue to carry on the torch of freedom and model of morality (respect for your fellow man, etc.), personal responsibility, justice, and equality as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did.

Americans of all backgrounds should follow the example of these black leaders. Use your freedoms wisely. Don’t think your freedoms were gained by folk who sat back and watched the world go by. No, those who have come before us paid many a price for us to be where we are today. But there is still much to accomplish. So let us pull ourselves up, and get to work. That is how we honor those who’ve gone before us.

America, come together as a family. That’s the way Dr. King would have wanted it.

Vaccinations and Drugs are being forced on the Public, Part II

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On April - 2 - 2008

I’ve seen firsthand what child immunizations can do to an otherwise healthy infant. I’ve had to deal with doctors who’ve said (after this infant suffered a seizure a little under a week after getting his 2nd round of childhood vaccines) that the vaccine may have triggered the seizure, but the vaccine wasn’t the main reason. The neurologists proceeded to look for some “underlying cause”. They did tests to find the culprit but found nothing. Their reasons for the seizures triggered in this child ranged from him having a stroke in his mother’s womb to current findings that he has a metabolic disorder or it may stem from a genetic problem.

While in the hospital, the medical team had found bright spots on the infant’s brain to indicate that he had damage in the temporal lobe. But in the case of the vaccine, these neurologists and their team refuted everything that my gut told me …the vaccine was the cause.

I was told by these neurologists that only in rare cases do children have seizures attributed to vaccinations, that about 1% of children have severe reactions to vaccinations. That is 1% too many! I was given an excuse about what a certain “medical association” believes in terms of vaccines. When I wouldn’t back down, the neurologist, clearly agitated, persisted with, “Where’s the proof, how do you prove it was the vaccine?!”

I pressed on…I mentioned to them, “If there was any doubt that the vaccine would have caused the severe reactions, wouldn’t you want to do further tests (do further testing on the infant based on the side effects of the vaccine to find out if it altered his brain) to look into the drug and its side effects before dismissing it outright?” My urgent questions remained unheeded.

Currently, after enduring seizures and tests in the hospital, this beautiful baby boy is on medication to control his seizures. No doubt he must have all of his vaccinations (in some states, there is an exception) before attends public school. His mother plans to space them out so as to give his body time to build up and become strong again.

It is truly a battle. Doctors will defend to the death the reason they believe vaccines pose no dangers, even when children are having severe reactions.

This is a CRISIS for our country! Are our children lab rats that we should willingly subject them to vaccinations without further tests done to find out if they are safe? As a people, Americans are allowing their doctors to prescribe prescription drugs one after another for us… and for our children, they are getting inundated with vaccines.

Vaccines with strong side effects are given to infants only months out of the womb. Vaccines like DTaP are given before a child reaches 1 yr. old. Side effects range in severity from a fever, to seizures.

Newer vaccines are scheduled to arrive on the market soon. A vaccine for Strep throat is scheduled to arrive on the market soon. However, there are vaccines that attack Strep on the market already and Strep is mostly treated with antibiotics ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23505424/ ).

There are vaccinations that are available today that I did not take as a child. I risked it and got Chicken Pox at age 10 and since then, I have not had a recurring bout with the disease. But today, the Chicken Pox vaccine is available. The moderate to severe side effects include seizures and pneumonia. Getting the Chicken Pox is annoying at best. But it isn’t life threatening. The side effects from the vaccine are.

We throw immunizations around at every sniffle and disease thinking it’s a cure-all. Certainly infants should be able to have to time to develop their bodies without all of the constant assault of vaccines at such an early stage in their lives. Vaccines carry heavy metals, bacteria, etc. Such is the reason why some infants have severe reactions to immunizations.

Many parents think that child immunizations are normal, that they will protect their child from various diseases. WRONG! If anything, the shots will make them sicker.

But there’s money to be made in the immunization business. Just like drugs, they bring in high dollars. They are UNNECESSARY. I’m no doctor, but if a child has an already healthy functioning immune system and in general, a healthy body overall, why expose them to shots at such an early stage in their life while they are still developing?!

Autism rates continue to rise in the United States. According to the US Food and Drug Administration website, Thimerosal, a preservative that is mercury based, known to cause neurological damage, is still used in many vaccines, however small the amount ( http://www.fda.gov/Cber/vaccine/thimerosal.htm#t3 ). Thimerosal could be attributed to the number of Autism rates in America and other reactions. Recently a family whose 9 year old daughter had a reaction to her childhood vaccines, won a case against the government ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23508982/ ). The child was 18 months at the time that she received 5 shots in a month. Afterwards, their child exhibited “autistic behavior.” The child’s father, Jon Poling is a neurologist. “Why take a chance,” he asked in response to the finding that Thimerosal is supposedly absent or in low quantities in many childhood vaccines. Certain flu shots still contain the preservative Thimerosal. Poling urged the government to remove Thimerosal from ALL flu shots.

More outrage…the Hepatitis B vaccine (Hepatitis B is a disease that is normally sexually transmitted, or transmitted through other risk behaviors) is being given to infants, sometimes shortly after BIRTH! What’s the need to expose a healthy infant to a vaccine that is clearly not needed at such a young age?

It’s time that parents stop relying completely on their doctors for every bit of advice they give. It’s time to use common sense. Do the research. Look into adult/childhood vaccines before you decide whether to subject your child to pain and anguish.

You, the parent, have the freedom to choose whether or not you want your child vaccinated. Or at least, space the vaccinations out. YOU are the first line of defense in protecting your child.

I will say this over and over… a statement I made in Part I of my article on vaccines:

*If there is any doubt that any symptom you experience after getting a vaccine is related to the vaccine, there should be no hesitation in stating your case to your health professional. This is about your health…you and only you should be in control of what goes into your body. The medical industry is not always right, hence the many adverse reactions people are suffering at the hands of immunizations and drugs. Many in the medical field don’t want to admit that vaccines are causing people horrible side effects. This is either because they lean on medical statistics from various medical organizations that the incidents of adverse reactions to vaccines are rare (which is a lie) or it is because they secretly have some profit motive behind the drug. The harsh reality is that many people are suffering horrible reactions to vaccines and drugs and it is getting underreported. Please remember, medical professionals are not gods.

Stay tuned for Part III, for more testimonials from reputed doctors on vaccines.

Vaccinations and Drugs are being forced on the Public, Part I

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On March - 30 - 2008

Vaccinations and drugs the government says fight against disease are being forced on the public more and more these days. These are vaccines that are not necessary and are having serious health effects on the public.

Suicide. Seizures. Fainting. The list goes on and on. Are those the sort of side effects you would want associated with your medicines or a vaccination? The drug companies that make many drugs on the market today are not concerned with side effects; they are not concerned until they are sued by a victim of a drug. The number of people harmed by vaccinations and “recommended” drugs is larger than is reported.

Just a few days ago, Singulair, an allergy drug came under fire for its link to suicides in children. An ALLERGY drug. I still see the Singulair drug commercial (manufactured by Merck) on the air even after the suicide reports( http://www.boston.com/business/healthcare/articles/2008/03/28/fda_reviewing_asthma_drug_suicide_link/ )!
According to the link, few other drugs offered by Merck have also come under fire.

Also, a recent study came out that mentioned most adults are not getting vaccinated against Shingles, Whooping Cough, and HPV (human papillomavirus). I am not inclined to believe that vaccinations are the direct link to keeping one healthy. I’m certainly not going to become dependent on vaccinations in that aspect…vaccinations with horrendous side effects. ( http://www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSN23640678 ). If one’s immune system and overall health is up to par, these diseases…shingles and whooping cough would be a non-issue. I will not wreck my immune system by accepting vaccinations that come with negative side effects. No doubt, exposing the body to various immunizations wears on the immune system. The immune system has to fight to build up antibodies against the invading pathogen.

Speaking of HPV, government has pressed the importance that young women get the vaccine Gardasil to guard against HPV ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16948093 ) which causes cervical cancer. But at what risk? Merck, the makers of Gardasil, are all too happy to allow lawmakers to state the case for young women to become vaccinated as they have lobbied to get the vaccination mandatory ( http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSN2022501520070221?pageNumber=2&virtualBrandChannel=0 )…all for financial reasons obviously. At Merck, the Executive Director of Medical Affairs for Vaccines Richard Haupt, mentioned “the media publicity had become a ‘potential distraction’ that was interfering with the company’s objective of promoting widespread use of the product.

“We’ve reevaluated our position, but certainly plan to continue education efforts in different venues, such as with legislators, health departments and coalition groups in various states.” If that isn’t a statement of admission to pushing a product, I don’t know what is!

As fellow writer Cynthia Janak reports, many young women have had their lives turned upside down due to side effects from this drug. Too many young women have had seizures, fainting, numbness, dizziness, etc. ( http://www.renewamerica.us/columns/janak/080328 ) from Gardasil. I say to all mothers and fathers out there, would you put your daughter at risk for adverse reactions such as those mentioned above?

A solution to avoiding sexually transmitted diseases… keep your legs closed. Our children are growing up in such an oversexed society as it is, and it’s about time to introduce those long lost mores to our children. Respect your body (that goes for adults as well), don’t put anything in it that will cause harm.

As I’ve said before, we should be vigilant in taking care of our health and vitality. To leave our bodies and health in the hands of the government is detrimental.

The human body is capable of warding off illness if one makes a concerted effort to stay healthy. In one’s quest to stay healthy, it’s important to make sure there is not another motive behind the “recommendations” of vaccines.

If we truly live in a free society, then adults should be able to make decisions whether or not to get vaccinated or allow their children to be vaccinated.

*If there is any doubt that any symptom you experience after getting a vaccine is related to the vaccine, there should be no hesitation in stating your case to your health professional. This is about your health…you and only you should be in control of what goes into your body. Put the Focus Back on Jesus

Posted by Felicia Fee Benamon On March - 22 - 2008

As we observe Easter, we must remember that is a time to reflect on our Savior, Jesus Christ’s suffering on the cross for us and His triumphant rise from the grave 3 days later. It is in that move that God gets the glory and mankind reaps happiness and salvation.

Many churches however want to add to this holy observance by allowing the worldly environmental cause to filter in and take the focus off of what God has done for mankind.

Churches have decided to go “eco-friendly” and order “eco-palms” for Palm Sunday. Never mind that traditions are usurped (the environmentally friendly palms can’t be folded into crosses) and that NAFTA is partly responsible for the “eco-palm” frenzy. We are giving up our traditions to be environmentally correct. Churches are playing into the hands of globalists who crafted trade agreements to undermine the sovereignty of nations ( http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/01/world/americas/01palm.html?_r=1&oref=slogin ).  Crafting free trade agreements creates an attitude of dependency of nations, not innovation. It is born from those with ulterior agendas.

In this regard, I ask, do we not have more faith in the Lord Jesus than to think that solely mankind must act to “save the earth”? God is mighty and FAR capable of keeping this planet in balance and in place until He gets ready to shake it (and He will). No matter what mankind tries to do to save the resources of this planet, it will not matter because God (who describes Himself as the “beginning and the end”) knows what will become of the earth in the end.

If not careful, Christians can get caught up in the environmental fanaticism and not know it. Some may think that going “green” is helping the earth, but they’ve given in to worldly concerns about saving the earth.

I am sure the Lord Jesus is touched by our desire to care for this planet. He also says that this earth is not our home. Don’t get caught up in the cares of this world…

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”–Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Christians cheapen the meaning of Easter when too much light is cast on the creation and not the Creator.

We have to remember that people who are pushing the environmental agenda stifle other viewpoints as to what is causing changes in the earth.

NASA scientist Jeff Willis has been studying the ocean floor recording its temperature and has found instead the ocean to be cooling slightly. When looking for answers as to why the icecaps are melting and sea level is rising, Kevin Trenberth of National Center for Atmospheric Research mentions, “The Earth has a number of natural thermostats, including clouds, which can either trap heat and turn up the temperature, or reflect sunlight and help cool the planet.”  It’s important to consider viewpoints from a variety of experts (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=88520025).

I firmly believe Global Warming is attributed to the natural cycle of the earth.  We are only a small speck on this earth and in this universe. Humans need not think they have such force to change and alter the very cycle of the planet.

Let’s not put our hope in environmental causes. America, your hope and future is in God, not a movement to revive the earth.  Let Easter be a time when all Christians focus on Jesus’ insurmountable love, that He would lay His life down to take your place as a sinful being before God and ultimately, bring us all back into fellowship with the Almighty through His resurrection.  Let’s put our faith in Jesus and abandon the politically correct “green” environmental movement.
