We all know playing the victim card pays, but when you mix in a little race baiting, we'll have perception issues.
The Family Place, an abuse shelter in Dallas, recently placed race-baiting advertisements on local buses. The ads depict a smiling African-American girl crowned with a tiara who innocently predicts, "One day my husband will kill me."
Let's be clear; no one I know would EVER condone violence against women.
But there's also a fine line between advocacy and drumming up business based on fear and racial stereotyping. Domestic violence is a color-blind, socio-economic plague, and the imagery and wording used for this shock ad may have gone over the top.
