A government takeover. Yeah, that'll make the automakers more competitive….

Yeah Mr. Moore’s 15 mins of fame is waning.
Listen, point the finger at the dinosaur better known as the UAW and those spoiled workers they represent! Who blow through their paychecks, demand ridiculous health coverage that has spurred a huge cost in the medical arena, plus a pension plan none of us will ever see. When a crisis comes about they want the tax payer’s help to fund their glut? Lol, the same guys who complain about too much government involvement are now crying for it. Here’s a plan let them bankrupt, restructure those huge salaries and over the top benefits and sell off the subsidiaries that are now pure garbage IE Buick and those GMC gas guzzlers.
I have 4 family members who work in the auto industry and I have now distanced myself from them because of the crying, arguing and whining when I say, “take a pay cut so your company can gain some ground on their own without the taxpayers help.” Another beauty? Three of them own as their main cars, a Honda, Lexus and a BMW! Yes they have American cars however they are used… No pride in product. They all own too many homes and have very little cash in the bank. Living good, however, not smart. Prejudice leads me to conclude that they are not the only auto workers with the same mentality.
I have served my country and proud to be an American. I also attend college and have researched the field I’m interested in and I will never see the salary they make until about 20 years of solid experience and my benefit package won’t look near as attractive, unless I pay on my own. Let them go under and fix things in house. Then and only then allow government funding. No loan, no bailout until they restructure.
