There’s nothing moderate about praising the guy who planned the murder of all of those Israeli athletes at Munich. There’s nothing inherently moderate about encouraging the PLO to adopt diplomacy as a way of getting what they want. The PLO never recognized Israel’s right to exist, and maintains to this day that their main purpose is to wipe Israel off the face of the map. Diplomacy to the PLO was just a trick, it was just another tactic in their war against Israel. It was for the purpose of appearing to be more moderate when nothing could possibly have been further from the truth. When Arafat was offered 95% of what he wanted at Camp David, he said “no”, and made no counter offer. Diplomacy to Arafat was never about true diplomacy.

Hannity is saying Khalidi praised the PLO terrorist Abu Iyaf in his obituary in 1991. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g17gT4eLAg ) What he does not say is that in this very short piece, Khalidi writes: “Abu Iyad was the prime political strategist inside Fatah and the PLO in recent years, playing a crucial role in winning the Palestine National Council over to a diplomatic strategy in its 1988 meeting in Algiers with his eloquent speeches and his back room political skills.” (MER 169, p. 4) I think first this shows that already in 1991 Khalidi was on the very moderate side of Palestinians. And second that Hannity is a jackass (well that is not really new )
