What Youth Vote?

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

More scare tactics designed to depress the Republican vote?

Gallup polling in October finds little evidence of a surge in young voter turnout beyond what it was in 2004. While young voter registration may be up slightly over 2004, the reported level of interest in the election and intention to vote among those under 30 are no higher than they were that year.

Nice try.

Rush In-Depth

Posted by Doug Powers On October - 31 - 2008

The UK’s Telegraph has published an interesting behind-the-scenes story about Rush Limbaugh.

What makes this essay an anomaly more than anything is the fact that the author obviously didn’t set out with a preconceived negative angle — a true rarity for a mainstream media outlet covering an American conservative.

I came close to meeting Rush once, but ended up only chatting with his security guy. I was on Glenn Beck’s radio show at Rockefeller Center a while back, and Rush was in New York that week, preparing for his broadcast in the next studio over. Nobody was getting in there — not even Ryan Seacrest, who was so upset about it that he refused to sit through my impromptu audition for American Idol.

I found out later that I just missed Rush, because he came over to talk to Glenn shortly after I’d left (I missed out in my haste for a hot dog). I always regretted not getting the chance to meet him.

Whether you agree or disagree with Rush Limbaugh, there’s no denying that he’s a radio legend with a knack for avoiding writers with designs on hitting him up for a large loan.

Let’s see now. First  Slow Joe Biden claims that paying higher taxes is your patriotic duty. And now, if you’re not happy to see your taxes go up, it’s because you’re just plain selfish!

“The reason that we want to do this, change our tax code, is not because I have anything against the rich,” Obama said in Sarasota, Florida, yesterday. “I love rich people! I want all of you to be rich. Go for it. That’s the America dream, that’s the American way, that’s terrific.

“The point is, though, that — and it’s not just charity, it’s not just that I want to help the middle class and working people who are trying to get in the middle class — it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot – when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care, when everybody’s got a little more money at the end of the month – then guess what? Everybody starts spending that money, they decide maybe I can afford a new car, maybe I can afford a computer for my child. They can buy the products and services that businesses are selling and everybody is better off. All boats rise. That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore. And that’s what I’m gonna do as president of the United States of America.

“John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.”

Obama must be one of the most tone deaf presidential candidates I’ve ever seen. He’s getting the crap beaten out of him because of what he said to Joe the Plumber about “spreading the wealth around.” And then he goes and makes it even worse.

Hey! You! Get Offa My Plane!

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

If anything, the Obama campaign (and a future Obama administration) is one of retribution.

The Obama campaign has decided to heave out three newspapers from its plane for the final days of its blitz across battleground states — and all three endorsed Sen. John McCain for president!

The NY POST, WASHINGTON TIMES and DALLAS MORNING NEWS have all been told to move out by Sunday to make room for network bigwigs — and possibly for the inclusion of reporters from two black magazines, ESSENCE and JET, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Despite pleas from top editors of the three newspapers that have covered the campaign for months at extraordinary cost, the Obama campaign says their reporters — and possibly others — will have to vacate their coveted seats so more power players can document the final days of Sen. Barack Obama's historic campaign to become the first black American president.

The excuse given was they want room for reporters covering swing states. Yeah, like those reading Ebony and Jet are swing voters.

Nice try. Just wait until they get their hands on all of us.

PURGE: SKEPTICAL REPORTERS TOSSED OFF OBAMA PLANE

NY POST, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, WASHINGTON TIMES TOLD TO GET OUT… ALL 3 ENDORSED MCCAIN

**Exclusive**

The Obama campaign has decided to heave out three newspapers from its plane for the final days of its blitz across battleground states — and all three endorsed Sen. John McCain for president!

The NY POST, WASHINGTON TIMES and DALLAS MORNING NEWS have all been told to move out by Sunday to make room for network bigwigs — and possibly for the inclusion of reporters from two black magazines, ESSENCE and JET, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

If you don’t believe me, then you haven’t been paying attention. First will be a reinstitution of the Fairness Doctrine for the purpose of shutting down conservative talk radio. Then the Democrats will come after the conservative bloggers. And then, who knows?

And the Coveted Al Qaeda Endorsement Goes To…

Posted by Doug Powers On October - 31 - 2008

Well, they didn’t really name who they wanted to win, but the “nudge, nudge” factor in this “non-endorsement” is so strong I was knocked off the left side of my chair. Al Qaeda leader Abu Yahya al-Libi said that the Republicans deserve to be “humiliated.”

He said that “the Republican Party has invited not just defeat but discredit this year, and that both its nominees for the highest offices in America should be decisively repudiated.” Oh wait, that last quote was from Christopher Hitchens. Nevermind.

Update: The unborn disagree with Al Qaeda.

http://dougpowers.com/2008/09/30/and-the-coveted-al-qaeda-endorsement-goes-to/

Hillbuzz lists three things that the media and the Obama campaign (wait, aren’t they the same thing?) will try to do over the weekend to trick you into thinking that John McCain has no chance of winning  this election, and discourage you from coming out to vote.

Head Games Coming Your Way:

(1) Calls for McCain to just give up and quit, because the race is over. This one is a favorite of the trolls who lurk on pro-McCain sites.  We get them here, despite all the spraying and fumigating we do, but notice how we ignore these trolls.  We’ve identified two paid Obama staffers who have been assigned to HillBuzz. We picked them up around the same time people from Ace and LGF started picking up some of our stuff — so our guess is they were assigned to us by whoever was monitoring those sites. They’re different trolls than the ones assigned to us during the primaries (we only had one back then, so evidently we’ve gotten more on the radar now). One of them starts posting “her” concern troll remarks here at 8am.  The other one starts “his” remarks around 5pm or so. It appears there are two shifts for the trolls — and from what we can see, they share the same computer and IP address. And it’s an address right here in Chicago. Imagine that. We wonder if we’ve ever run into these people at Houlihan’s on Michigan Avenue after one of their shifts, as that’s where a lot of Obama staffers like to go for a drink, and where we often hang out to see what we can overhear while pretending to read a book over a little dinner. Since we’re going to be in Ohio the rest of the time before the election, we’re okay with letting you in on that little bit, as we won’t be able to eavesdrop on you anymore. But the information these Obama staffers inadvertantly provided was really helpful on a lot of things.  A great way to see how the race was going was to listen for how “audacious” these people felt that day. That’s their internal lingo:  “Are you feelin’ it? Are you feelin’ audacious today?”.  “Nope, not feelin’ the audacity today, ’cause we know those PA polls are bogus and BO’s not gonna take the state”. Word to the wise: these staffers were never as “audacious” as the media and skewed polls have insisted they should be.

***

The ONLY way McCain loses this race is if the media, operating as a full-fledged wing of the Obama campaign, breeds enough Eeyores amongst you to keep enough people home for Obama to squeak out wins. Hillary Clinton should have won Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Indiana, by larger margins that she did. Ohio should have been a 13-point win, Pennsylvania should have been a 12-point win, and Indiana should have been a 9-point win. Eeyores staying home, saying, “Oh bother, TV say me stay home, me sad, need dydee changed!” is what cost Hillary those extra points.

***

(2) Wild claims of Obama winning states that shock and surprise you. Since Obama believes there are 57 states (maybe 58 or 59, depending on how he’s counting that day), the Obamedia will report huge wins for Dear Leader in the states of Confusion, Denial, and Undress, with Atlantis, Oz, Hopetopia, and Leningrad all going to Obama early on November 4th — because everyone loves Obama so much, that places that don’t even exist have voted for him (with 100% of the vote of the dead, cartoon characters, and historical figures going to Dear Leader in unprecedented numbers). The best example of the Obamedia making up lies like this was on Super Tuesday, when every Eeyore we knew ran through the streets crying and pants-wetting, gnashing their teeth and yanking their hair as the sky fell around them — BECAUSE OBAMA IS WINNING CALIFORNIA!  MASSACHUSETTS! ARKANSAS! TENNESSEE! NEW JERSEY! NEW YORK! WAAAAAAAAH!  DOOOOOOOMED!

***

So, we realize HillBuzz would have never been started if it wasn’t for this need to treat Eeyores and calm them down. Not that we excuse any of you people for you crippling pessimism and gloom meets doom, but we have truly enjoyed running HillBuzz (and will enjoy maintaining it as we support Hillary Clinton for the next 4 years in her role as junior Senator from New York, working with President McCain and Vice President Palin on energy indepedence, JOBS, and whatever else Clinton champions during the McCain Administration).

We’re glad we’re here right now to remind Republicans who’ve found us through Rush, LGF, Ace and other places that the Obamedia deliberately called states for Obama he had no hope of winning, just to freak Eeyores out and keep them from voting.

If you do just ONE THING today, we ask you a personal favor: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to as many Republican blogs as you can and WARN THEM that the Obamedia will tell you all weekend that Obama is winning Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Florida, Iowa, Virginia, West Virginia, and other states we do not believe Obama will win (except for Iowa, which we still think goes to Obama, but our best sources claim McCain now leads in internals by 1 point). They are already starting to say truly crazy things like “Obama will win Louisiana and Arkansas!”, and that’s just nuts. That is your equivalent of the Obamedia swearing up and down that the Kennedys and Oprah would win Massachusetts and California for Obama. WE knew that was pure cockamamie nonsense, but Eeyores wet their pants on cue over this. So, the Obamedia’s marching orders are to freak all of you out with SHOCKING DEVELOPMENTS! in Lousiana, Arkansas, Georgia, etc. just to shake your faith and confidence.

This is like in Little League when the opposing team would chant, “Hey batta hey batta hey batta hey batta hey batta sa-weeeeeeeeeng batta” when you were at the plate, to make you swing too soon or too late. Just to psych you out. And that nonsense actually worked on Team Hillary, because we lost a lot of volunteers who Eeyored off the face of the Earth just before Super Tuesday, so convinced of unprecedented blow-out doom.

So, when you see the Obamedia doing all of this to McCain, please know they are crying wolf again. Don’t let that demoralize you!

(3) Repeated insistance that blacks and young people will decide this election, and they are all going to vote in record numbers for Obama. First of all, black voters have always voted Democratic in massive numbers. We don’t think blacks have ever voted for Republicans in any substantial way in any race we can think of. Blacks vote as a race-bloc, and they always vote for the Democrat. Maybe Obama will get blacks who have never voted before to vote for him, or blacks who don’t bother to vote on Election Day to show up and vote, but we doubt that it will be very many people. Black voters were highly motivated to vote in 2004 because they felt George W. Bush stole the 2000 election, and they saw that as a civil rights issue that increased black turnout to one of the highest levels we have ever seen. Remember, Jesse Jackson almost won Election 2000 for Gore but was stopped by the Gore campaign, in the form of Donna Brazile. Watch the HBO movie Recount.  Jackson felt the Florida Recount was a civil rights/voter disenfranchisement issue at its heart, and wanted to press that to the public. He revved the black community up and flew down to Tallahassee, but Gore and Brazile made him get back on a plane to Chicago. That was a critically stupid move…and you know how the recount ended.

It’s worth the time to read the whole thing. The media and Obamabots have been playing this same game all throughout the Democratic primaries, and are still playing the game today. McCain/Palin can win this election and win it convincingly. But, they can only do it if you don’t get discouraged and go out and vote.

A novel way of getting the attention of your students…

FURIOUS parents have called for a saucy teacher to be sacked after she put on a saucy strip show for her 15-year-old pupils.

The German minx was supposed to be supervising a start of term party. But things got out of hand as the pretty teacher put on her own s-extracurricular activities for the teen pupils.

She seductively stripped down to her underwear – to the joy of her howling students. And she only stopped her X-rated High School musical when another teacher forced her to cover up.

You gotta love liberal values in the schools.

Murtha’s Million-Dollar Band-Aid

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

Sometimes, not even a million dollars can fix the damage a big mouth causes.

Veteran Democratic Rep. John Murtha (Pa.) has sent out a last-minute plea for $1 million to save his hotly contested seat, endangered by his own remarks describing his district as racist.

In an e-mail sent to potential donors, Murtha’s campaign asked his supporters to maximize all campaign contributions.

“We need to raise another $1 million to compete,” his campaign fundraiser Susan O’Neill wrote in the e-mail obtained by The Hill. “We need money immediately.”

It's one thing when you falsely accuse a political opponent or smear Marines during a time of war. The people, as a whole, take false accusations against them more seriously.

All the money in the world may not dig John Murtha out of the hole his mouth put him in.

When There’s No More Room In Hell, The Dead Will Vote In Florida

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

So apropos on Halloween…

Thousands of dead Floridians are registered to vote and some in Central Florida had ballots cast in their names long after their deaths.

"That is scary," said Jim Branch.

Branch's mother Marjorie died in 2004 but someone voted for her in 2006. Branch had tried to get his mother removed from the voter rolls.

"It was much easier for me calling Social Security and taking her off not getting any more checks here, than it was that (voter registration)," he said.

For some reason, I sincerely doubt the dead are voting for John McCain. Do acorns have a scent because this sure stinks.

Quote Of The Day

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

Maybe there should've been a little pre-game coordination because this probably didn't come out the way Barack Obama had hoped.

I haven't cleared this with him and he may even be mad at me for saying this so close to the election, but I know what else he said to his economic advisers (during the crisis). "Tell me what the right thing to do is. What's the right thing for America? Don't tell me what's popular. You tell me what's right — I'll figure out how to sell it."
Bill Clinton, during a campaign stop in Florida on Obama's response to the bank meltdown

If anything, this clearly illustrates Obama's lack of judgment. WHY would anyone want Bill Clinton to campaign for someone who was the roadblock to Hillary's ascension?

Dummy for president.

Democrats trick elderly woman into voting for Obama

Posted by Eye Doc On October - 31 - 2008

Hope and change baby, hope and change!

Christina Garcia, a resident of Council Bluffs IA was recently duped into signing a ballot.

According to Angela Hayes, Ms. Garcia’s daughter, a Democratic canvasser visited her mother sometime mid-October. Ms. Garcia’s son, Emeterio Garcia, who lives nearby was called over during the conversation at which point Emeterio asked the canvasser what was going on, the canvasser stated he was there to “register new democrats” and Emeterio responded that “his mother was not a democrat.” Emerterio than asked the man to leave.

Ms. Garcia contacted her daughter and her son soon there after wondering when she could vote. Angela Hayes, Ms. Garcia’s daughter then followed up with Pottawatomie County Clerk and discovered that her mother had already voted by mail.

Ms. Garcia who is elderly and according to her children and her physician is unable to fill out a form such as ballot or ballot request form due to a mental condition. The family firmly believes that their mother’s fundamental right to vote was essentially stolen from her.

As I’ve said, and as this story clearly proves,  the Obama campaign will do absolutely anything to try to win this election.

Barney Frank’s History Lesson

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

So Barney Frank now claims It was Republican opposition to regulation that caused the bank meltdown…?

Let's not forget what really happened, when it happened.

During 2004 congressional hearings on the fraudulent bookkeeping practices of those running Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Barney Frank said,

But I have seen nothing in here that suggests that the safety and soundness of an issue, and I think it serves us badly to raise safety and soundness as a kind of a general (?) when it does not seem to be an issue.

Republicans back then WERE calling for the oversight and regulation of the very institutions that brought about the fiscal mess we find ourselves in today. It was Democrats like Barney Frank who, back then, resisted.

It's a good thing the majority of the American voters know the facts….

Jong: “Blood Will Run In The Streets”

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

In other words, if you racist Americans don't elect Barack Obama, you will pay dearly.

A few days ago, Jong, the author and self-described feminist, gave an interview to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, the choicest bits of which were brought to my attention by the reliably sharp-eyed Christian Rocca, the U.S. correspondent of Il Foglio, who published excerpts on his Camillo blog. Basically, Jong says her fear that Obama might lose the election has developed into an "obsession. A paralyzing terror. An anxious fever that keeps you awake at night." She also says that her friends Jane Fonda and Naomi Wolf are extremely worried that Obama will be sabotaged by Republican dirty tricks, and that if an Obama loss indeed comes to pass, the result will be a second American Civil War.

Again, here's the simple template. Liberals have the superior candidate; a candidate that clearly embraces all they believe America wants and needs. The world wants Obama, the planet needs Obama. The only thing that could possibly deter an Obama victory are racist Americans and Republican cheating (Democrats never cheat).

If Obama loses, this will set back the women's movement, race relations, civil rights, abortion rights, American influence throughout the world, the oceans will rise, and the poor will starve to death in the streets.

Let the juvenile temper tantrum begin.

Bail-Out Bill=Incumbent Protection Spending

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

Did we not expect this? Give our lawmakers lots of money to spend and have it not always go where intended (and in an election year), but go where advantageous to incumbents…?

Today the Emergency Economic Stabilization Plan, signed by President Bush on Oct. 3, involves the government taking direct equity stakes in banks, and at least one bank used the money to buy a rival. The taxpayer money's also expected to be used to buy stakes in life insurance companies, and may soon even go to help two struggling Detroit automakers merge.

In short, what once was disparagingly referred to as bailout for Wall Street now looks like a broader bailout of all sorts of troubled businesses. Some lawmakers and outside analysts question whether that's serving the public interest as intended — or whether it's becoming a taxpayer-financed giveaway to favored firms.

We were told giving taxpayer money to shore up the banks would result in stabilization. Now that the money's being doled out and the markets are on a rollercoaster, watching the senate attach those dreaded earmarks for their re-election is not just sickening. I should be criminal.

A Local Race

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 31 - 2008

A fair write-up, for once…

A Democratic incumbent and a Republican frustrated by what he describes as arrogance on Beacon Hill will face off Tuesday for a House seat that represents Orange and Athol.

State Rep. Christopher J. Donelan, D-Orange, and Athol resident Robert E. Parks are seeking election to the 2nd Franklin District, which also covers Erving, Gill, Greenfield and Warwick.

Mr. Donelan, a former police and probation officer who previously served on the Ralph C. Mahar Regional School Committee, has held the position since 2003.

A columnist and executive director of New Media Alliance Television, Mr. Parks, 50, said House Speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi’s pledge to block the implementation of Question 1, were it to pass, is a perfect example of the “arrogance of power” among legislators.

Now, it's up to the voters.

New Word: Obamacide

Posted by Doug Powers On October - 31 - 2008

Not only does the creation of a hopeless dependency culture breed pitiful indigent lemmings who some days are too lazy to even suck the public teet, but it also can lead to suicidal depression where the decedents are now actually leaving the dependency to their family in their will:

EL PASO - The man who jumped 60 feet to his death from the Spaghetti Bowl left a note with a message for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.

The note that was found in the man’s car read, “Obama, take care of my family.”

I’m going to start calling this “Obamacide,” and if Obama is elected president, it will become an epidemic.

If this poor man really wanted to take care of his family, the last person he’d ask to do so is Barack Obama, whose brother lives in Kenyan squalor, and whose Aunt lives in a housing project near Boston.

In the famous words of Dunder Mifflin Regional Manager Michael Scott, "When I discovered YouTube, I didn't work for five days." But as great as YouTube is, it has some shortcomings-upload limits, poor audio output, a somewhat restrictive content filter. New Media Alliance Television, or NMATV if we're trying to shrink the word count, is a conservative-minded YouTube that solves all those problems. The site hosts videos clocking in at up to an hour, boasts stereo sound capability and (so far) isn't afraid to put controversial stuff up. Most Hos, Pimps, And Johns Back Dems

Posted by Bob Parks On October - 30 - 2008

I wonder what the national numbers are…?

Based on the prostitutes' voter registration cards, they're destined to become Obama girls in November. That's because 78 percent of them registered as Democrats. Countywide, Dems make up only about 62 percent of voters, according to the Division of Elections.

The Illinois senator also has the advantage with local "johns" — 72 percent go Democratic. And convicted pimps: Four out of every five register Democratic. And for the most special of special interest groups — male transvestite hookers — they're batting a thousand for Dems, albeit in drag.

I knew they all had something in common.

Iran threatens the United States with suicide bomber attacks

Posted by Eye Doc On October - 30 - 2008

I’m sure we could just send Obama over to talk to them, and that would straighten out this whole thing.

Only a few days ahead of the American presidential election, Iranian parliamentary speaker ‘Ali Larijani and Supreme Leader Ayatollah ‘Ali Khamanai have launched harsh verbal attacks against the United States.

Referring to the US army’s attacks in Pakistan and Syria, Larijani said they would not be answered with diplomatic protests.

“The US method and conduct, expressed by this aggression, will only be stopped by a clear-cut and unexpected response, whose grounds were set by the martyr Hussein Fahmida,” Larijani said during a parliamentary session on Wednesday.

Fahmida was 13 when he detonated an explosive device he carried on him, destroying an Iraqi tank during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s.

“America should be aware not to put its huge body on top of the suicide bombers’ explosive devices,” Larijani said.

I guess somebody forgot to tell Iran that they were a tiny country that was no risk to the United States.

The Obama Infomercial: A Very Brief Analysis

Posted by Doug Powers On October - 30 - 2008

Did you see any of the Obama infomercial last night? It didn’t turn out exactly the way I envisioned it, but it got pretty close.

Here’s part one. Isn’t it funny how “middle America” is mocked and ridiculed by the bi-coastal elite when they’re not ignoring it altogether, but these same liberals always open their ads reveling in the abject beauty that is middle America as if it’s the heart, soul and backbone of the nation? Too many of us fall for the faux love.

And I noticed that the “$250,000 per year and over” line for people who are the only ones who will see tax increases has been magically lowered to $200,000 per year (Biden had already lowered the threshold to $150,000). Before you know it, it’ll be knocking on Joe the Plumber’s bank account.

What I just couldn’t get past had nothing to do with the content of the infomercial — or lack thereof — it was the Oval Office replica Obama was speaking in, hoping it would make him appear more presidential:

It doesn’t work for me.

Every time I see things like this…

…I just can’t help but think of this:
