Lock and Load: Speech Night in Minneapolis

It’s 9:39 p.m. and Mike Huckabee is speaking right now, and so far has one of the memorable lines of the week: “I’m tired of hearing about her (Palin’s) lack of experience. I want to tell you something — Sarah Palin got more votes running for Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for President of the United States.”

Rudy Giuliani up next…

Passing observation between speeches: After flipping between CNN and the major over-the-air networks, many of the gathered media look like the feel out of place and uncomfortable at the GOP convention as opposed to the Democrat convention. It’s like watching a group of microphone wielding vegetarians covering the grand opening of a steakhouse.

Rudy’s line to remember: “There’s good ‘change,’ and bad ‘change.’ ‘Change’ is not a destination just as ‘hope’ is not a strategy.”

A fine warmup speech by Rudy…

Hockey-Mom’s up now. This should be fun. Circle the wagons and secure the blindfolds on the feminists.

Well, it’s pretty simple at this point. “Regular” people — “ordinary” Americans” like you and me often say how great it would be to have “one of us” in Washington. Sarah Palin’s as close as we may ever get to that.
