Complaint Filed Against Obama for Lying on Bar Application

Jim Geraghty tells us that an anonymous complaint has been filed with the Illinois State Bar regarding Barack Obama lying on his Illinois Bar application. Obama admits that he’s used cocaine and other illegal drugs in the past. The complaint alleges that on the bar application Obama lied and stated that he hasn’t used illegal substances.
Some anonymous figure has filed a complaint with the Illinois Bar Association, charging Obama with:
a) making a statement of material fact in connection with a bar application that the applicant knows to be false; b) committing a criminal act that reflects adversely on the lawyer’s fitness to practice law; c) engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation; d) engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice; and e) engaging in conduct which brings the courts or the legal profession into disrepute.
The complaint charges Obama with not admitting his drug use on his application.
One wonders how the author of the complaint knows that Obama lied on his bar application when Barack Obama has refused to release his bar application to the public, but maybe this person is privy to information that the rest of us have been prevented by the Obama campaign from having. If in fact it can be shown that Obama lied, he can be reprimanded or disbarred as a result.

Who cares? If he admitted it, there’s a good chance he wouldn’t have gotten his license. If admitting it didn’t make a difference, why are they even asking the question in the first place? George Bush did coke in college and Bill Clinton smoked pot. All of them admit they were mistakes.
It’s not about using drugs in the past. It’s about lying on a bar application which is grounds for disbarment if it really happened. You can spin all you want, but you’re comparing apples and oranges.
