The other day I overheard a liberal say, "Fox News makes things up." If I had the time, I would've asked for some specifics and would have probably gotten the usual snooty response (no ready examples, just an accepted fact).
While I am a network alumnus, I'm no paid hack for Fox, when they say they're "fair and balanced", I don't interpret that to mean they're objective. They do, however, balance out liberal and conservative viewpoints. Sure, they may have more conservative voices, but in adding up all the cable networks, public radio and television, and the big broadcast networks, Fox levels the playing field on a daily basis. Liberals consequently despise "Faux News" because they don't do well when their ideas are challenged.
